September 2010 Weather Forecast for Ireland

UPDATED September 7th 2010

September will start on a very pleasant note indeed with a lot of sunny and warm weather. This will last until Friday 3rd when a slow breakdown in conditions is probable. Temperatures in these first few days will be in excess of 20 degrees in the West but the nights will be cool.

September 7th to September 14th is going to be quite a wet period of weather with high rainfall totals possible in all parts of Ireland. Temperatures will be 17 or 18c at best in this period. It will also be quite windy at times.

September 15th to September 22nd and the weather tries to settle down but to no avail really in the North though the Southern half will have more drier spells than before and later to the rest of the country has a brief dry spell. Temperatures around 17c and nights a lot cooler.

September 23rd to September 30th and the final week brings a return of more rain and showers from the Atlantic. The nights will hold to 7 or 8c but the days will only be around 15 or 16c by now.

So overall September is going to be a wetter month than normal.
It will also be mild with temperatures above normal.
Sunshine looks like it will be below normal.
